Are shops and restaurants within walking distance?

Tenby is as charming for shopping as it is for its coastal scenery, with a lively mix of independent boutiques, quirky gift shops, specialist stores and a few familiar high street names tucked into its narrow, winding streets and historic centre. The town centre invites you to browse treasures and local crafts in places like Equinox and The Nook, or pick up unique jewellery from Cariads, while Tenby Bookshop offers books with a local flavour. You’ll find everything from souvenirs and gifts to everyday essentials at Tenby Stores, fashion at White Stuff Tenby and Jago, and even a traditional market at the Old Market Hall. This blend of local character and seaside retail makes shopping in Tenby a delightful part of visiting the town.

For food Tenby has a brilliant scene that makes the most of its seaside location, with something to suit every taste and mood. Fresh seafood features heavily on menus around town, with popular spots like On Georges and Twelve offering well-loved local favourites, while Top Joe’s is a go-to for relaxed pizza nights and Harbwr (Harbour Brewery) works equally well for brunch or an evening meal. For classic pub food, The Lifeboat Tavern is a long-standing favourite, and no visit to Tenby feels complete without an ice cream from one of the many options within town or on the beach. If you’re after something casual, Fecci's Fish & Chips is hugely popular, while Tap & Tân and the Hope & Anchor are perfect for informal, seaside dining. Altogether, Tenby’s mix of independent eateries and local favourites makes eating out a real highlight of any stay. We have our own personal favourites which we can share with you on request, please just ask.

What’s the best time of year to visit?

The best time of year to visit would depend upon your own preferences however Tenby is a wonderful place to visit year-round, offering very different but equally appealing experiences depending on the season. In the summer months, the town comes alive with golden beaches, boat trips, coastal walks and a buzzing atmosphere, while major events such as Ironman Wales bring an exciting energy and draw visitors from around the world. Shops, cafés and restaurants are in full swing, and the colourful streets feel vibrant from morning until late evening. Outside of peak season, Tenby becomes calmer and more relaxed, making it ideal for peaceful beach walks, exploring the historic town walls and enjoying the coastline without the crowds. Many eateries remain open, often with a more local feel, and the slower pace highlights Tenby’s charm, scenery and character just as much as the summer buzz.

We are open from February until late November.

Do you offer off-season breaks or short stays?
